Quartz countertops are well known for being a robust and hassle-free option for kitchens. Made with a mix of stone and resin, quartz is as hard as granite but also has a glossy, non-porous surface that is aesthetically pleasing. While they are durable, quartz countertops are not indestructible and can chip or crack due to kitchen accidents. However, in most cases, you can repair the affected area without having to replace the entire slab.

1- Clean the countertop with an ammonia-based cleaner.
Before starting the repairs, clean the area with a non-abrasive cleaner. Spray the cleaner and wipe the area with a soft, damp cloth. Wait for it to dry before starting the repairs.

2- Mask off the chipped area for a better finish and to avoid adhesive stains.
Place painter’s tape or masking tape around the chipped area. This makes it easier to apply the adhesive only to the chipped portion, giving you a smooth and clean finish. It will also prevent any adhesive stains or spills on your countertop.

3- Fix cracks on light-colored countertops with SuperGlue.
A bonding adhesive or super glue is a good option for repairing minor chips on lighter-colored surfaces, as they are less visible. Use a brush or spatula to apply thin layers of glue on the affected area until the chip is level with the rest of the surface. Allow the glue to dry for at least 24 hours.
